During the last couple of days I have been struggling with the OpenID module for Drupal 5.x. Even though the documentation for this module is pretty scarce, installation is supposed to be straightforward: just install the module and automagically you'll be able to login with any valid OpenID.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my site. After I enter my OpenID, I'm always sent back to the login form. I tried IDs from VeriSign's PIP and myOpenID but none of them work. So I guess there's something wrong on my (Drupal) side.

A quick search reveals that other people have encountered the exact same problem. Unfortunately there's no indication of a possible solution.

I guess I better stop fiddling with the 5.x module and wait for Drupal 6 with OpenID support in its core.
