BarCamp Gent

Last Saturday I went to the second BarCamp in Gent. BarCamp is a so-called unconference where everybody is supposed to participate in one way or another.

I gave a 20 minute presentation about my switch from Windows to Ubuntu. You can find the presentation slides (in S5 format) here.

I was especially interested in sessions where people talked about their own experiences because these sessions often provide information that is hard to find elsewhere. I particularly liked Bart's "10 tips for starting entrepreneurs", Toon's "Entrepyromaniac confessions: What I learned after burning 4.000.000 EUR of VC money" and Tom's "I Am A Switcher".

The nice folks of 10to1 also gave a demo of their new Eetidee.be project. The idea to create a Web2.0 site to answer the question "What are we going to eat?" is simple yet effective.

Early 2009 there is supposed to be a BarCamp in Antwerp. You can count me in for that edition as well.

Doe dan maar een sessie over X10 :)
