As an independent ICT consultant I provide services related to a wide range of topics: open source, open standards, agile software development, web design, content management and emerging technologies.

As Support Manager I am responsible for the day to day operations of the Customer Support Department of Inventive Designers. This includes staffing of support teams located in Europe and the US (including 24x7 support for selected customers), tracking of service level agreements and coordinating maintenance releases together with Development.

As Product Manager of Inventive Designers' Scriptura product suite I am responsible for gathering and analyzing new user requirements, providing adequate documentation (including user guides, whitepapers and technical presentations) and training material (including certification tests). Additionally I guard the consistency of all public API's and user interface elements. Other responsibilities include competitor analysis, validation of third party (open source) software licenses and many more.
April 2002 - November 2005 (3 years 8 months)
I was responsible for the daily planning, organization and followup of all development (and support) activities related to Inventive Designers' product line: Scriptura XBOS, DTM for iSeries and EverGreen/400. This included the introduction of development guidelines, continuous builds, automated testing and release procedures.
June 1999 - March 2002 (2 years 10 months)
As a result of the international growth of Inventive Designers, I became responsible for the technical marketing and implementation services of the company's products. During this period I was a speaker and instructor at multiple international events and conferences in Europe and the US (see map). I helped large companies and organizations to successfully implement Inventive Designers' products.
October 1996 - May 1999 (2 years 8 months)
As one of the first employees of Inventive Designers I was responsible for implementing and supporting Inventive Designer's products and services. I was also a teacher of several networking (Client Access/400, TCP/IP, Internet Security) and programming (Introduction to Java) courses at IBM Belgium Education and Training.
February 1994 - September 1996 (2 years 8 months)
As an AS/400 Systems Engineer of the Advanced Software Solutions Center I was responsible for introducing new development tools and software technologies to local AS/400 business partners. The technologies involved were PC connectivity (PC Support/400, Client Access/400), TCP/IP networking (SMTP, FTP and HTTP servers) application modernization (GUI/400) and object oriented programming (Smalltalk, C++ and Java). I was a speaker at several local IBM AS/400 announcement events.
