Ten months after becoming self-employed, I'm finally listening to my back.
I have replaced the standard chair I have been sitting on with a brand new Kinnarps 8244 ergonomic office chair. It is not a cheap chair but when you spend more than 12 hours per day sitting on the same chair you better get a decent one.
It has been doing the rounds on Planet Ubuntu and Planet GNOME and now it has hit Planet Grep as well: the "me" meme. I might as well jump on the bandwagon.
When I became self-employed, a little over two months ago, I decided to donate money to the open source projects that help me during my day-to-day activities. Just like Eclipse, Drupal has helped me a lot during the past few months.
A little over two months ago I became self-employed. A lot of the work that I do involves open source and most of it is done inside Eclipse: java coding, PHP development, version control, build automation and so on.
I decided to make a donation to the Eclipse Foundation to show my appreciation for the excellent tools, the smart people that develop them and the nice community around this all.
In the future, you can expect IT-related posts (in English) about a variety of topics: open source, open standards, software development, web design, content management, emerging technologies and so on.
The actual topics and the frequency of the postings will probably vary greatly.
