Building apps for customers is fun, but sometimes you have to scratch your own itch. I’m proud to release Dreamer, a screen saver for Android.

Dreamer turns your idle phone, tablet or TV into a slideshow of hand-picked, high-resolution photos: galaxies from the James Webb Space Telescope, wildlife, landscapes and fractals.
What you get
- Hand-picked images: every photo is chosen by hand. No filler.
- Four categories: space, animals, nature and fractals. Show or hide whichever you like.
- Any screen: works in portrait and landscape, on phones, tablets and TVs.
- Seven languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
- Regular updates: new images are added over time.
The images come from Wikimedia Commons, ESA/Webb, ESO and NOIRLab, and each one is credited to its author in the app.
Pricing
Dreamer is a one-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, now or later.
Setting it up
On a phone or tablet, pick Dreamer as your screen saver in the system settings.
On Android TV, select it under Settings → Device Preferences → Screen saver.
Google TV doesn’t list third-party screen savers, so you’ll need to enable Dreamer once using adb commands from a computer. The website explains how.
You can get Dreamer from the Play Store.
